“We want to be No 1 on Google!”
This of course is usually the answer to the question “What result do you want from Google and our Search Engine Optimisation work?”
Of course it is a common misperception that ranking No 1 on Google will somehow miraculously lead to more traffic and more sales. Sadly nothing could be further from the mark.
Why?
Well firstly users often don’t click on the first result listed. They usually at the bare minimum scan all the results listed on the first page to see what looks likes the best match for their search.
Secondly, unless you’ve ranked well for a targeted keyword phrase you’re likely to be getting traffic which might have a quick look at your site, but which never has any intention of buying anything. Of course if your online presence generates most of it’s revenues from online advertising this isn’t a problem, but for the majority of websites getting untargeted traffic will simply lead to increased hosting and bandwidth costs and less revenue.
So what is the answer?
Well we concentrate our efforts mainly on Natural White Hat Organic SEO and SEM rather than Paid Search. Like many companies we are able to look at your keywords and generate lists of keyword phrases. However that is where the similarity stops.
Many companies faced with lists of over 200 phrases for each keyword tend to give up and opt for the Paid Search route instead. We instead ensure our clients have an infinitely greater success rate with Natural Search because we are able to generate lists showing exactly which keyword phrases you should target, together with an assessment of how many pages written on that phrase will be required to get you into the top 20 results on Google for that phrase.
Further we have found a way to make video count as content for search engines.

Why Natural Search Engine Optimisation?
Well imagine you have a shop selling organic pet food. You’re sure you’ve got the right products at the right price but the problem is no one seems to know where you are. With no visitors you can’t sell any of your products. No money equals no profit. What do you do?
Having a website can be much the same as being a high street store no-one has heard of. Approx 98% of websites actually get less than a handful of visitors a year! However on the flip side, with the right recipe your website could be a goldmine with minimal set up costs.
Our philosophy is simple. Why spend a great deal of time and money on setting up websites which relatively few people ever sees?
So we concentrate on Natural Search. These are the key words and phrases which users actually type into Search Engines.
When Does Paid Search (PPC)Work?
To us Paid Search is too much like a crash diet. You get great short term results, but soon the willpower required becomes too much and you give up. Before you know it you’re back to your previous size and you have an entire wardrobe you can’t fit into.
Sounds familiar?
Of course Paid Search can be extremely useful for those operating in the most competitive areas such as Travel and Consumer Electronics. However for the vast majority of websites this isn’t such an issue.
Where we do advocate using Paid Search though is where you need immediate traffic for either a short term promotion or time limited product. Memorabilia surrounding Tony Blair’s departure on 27 June could be an example where PPC could be used.
However in general our philosophy is to concentrate on getting you targeted free traffic through the search engines and only if this isn’t working to look at Paid Search. Yes it’s more hard work initially, but once you start getting in a steady stream of free traffic your profit margins will only benefit.
